MANILA, PHILIPPINES -- Inari Berhad has completed its acquisition of optoelectronics manufacturer Amertron Inc. for $32 million, pending a completion audit of Amertron's NTA.

The acquisition includes a pair of Amertron subsidiaries with two manufacturing facilities in the Philippines and one in Kunshan, China.

The acquisition is expected to more than double the group's combined annual sales for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014.

"The completion of the acquisition of Amertron marks a significant milestone in Inari Berhad's growth strategy as, in addition to the acquisition having an important impact on the group's future financial performance, we will now be able to expand our existing electronic manufacturing services business to include optoelectronics and fiber-optics productsm which is in line with plan to diversify our existing radio frequency EMS business," Inari Berhad executive vice chairman Dr. Tan Seng Chuan said. "The addition of optoelectronics to our products portfolio immediately elevates Inari Berhad to being a significant player in the EMS sector, particularly in the global aerospace and microelectronics industry.

Amertron has 2,800 workers in the Philippines and China.
