TAIPEI -- A Foxconn subsidiary will establish a joint venture with leading Chinese gaming software developer to market education-use tablets. The new entity, which pairs the EMS/ODM with Foxteq Holdings and NetDragon Websoft will design and build the tablets, which are aimed at schools in China.
Under terms of the deal, Foxteq will hold 45% of the new company, with NetDragon taking a 49% stake and and Vision Knight Capital the remainder. The companies have committed 8 million to the project.
Foxconn has been testing the waters with its own products as growth in its traditional EMS has tapered.
