TAIPEI -- Hon Hai (Foxconn) will hire up to 15,000 new workers this year, primarily in Taiwan, according to published reports.  The new hires won't be for the company's traditional manufacturing positions, however, a company spokesman told Reuters today.

Instead, the ODM/EMS will fill spots for its emerging 4G wireless services, cloud computing services and e-commerce businesses.

Hon Hai, whose $110 billion in annual revenues comes primarily from building electronics products for other companies, holds a license to operate Taiwan's 4G mobile spectrum, and has been teaming with Mozilla on browser development.
