VANCOUVER – Creation Technologies today announced longtime EMS executive Bhawnesh Mathur as its president and chief executive. He replaces Arthur Tymos, who stepped down at the end of 2013.

Mathur has spent 30 years in electronics and electronics manufacturing at IBM, Sanmina-SCI and Arrow Electronics. Most recently he was CEO of Epic Technologies prior to the EMS company's acquisition by Natel last October.

"After an extensive search, our board has selected a leader with proven success in our complex industry.  I am confident the years to come will be filled with new opportunities under Bhawnesh's leadership," said Geoff Reed, chairman and one of Creation’s founders. "This is our next step in providing the service excellence that our people and our customers have come to expect from Creation Technologies.”

Mathur spent two decades at IBM in roles ranging from plant management to global supply chain management. As as EVP global supply chain at Sanmina-SCI, he streamlined supply chain processes and deployed IT systems that provided global visibility. As chief supply chain officer at Arrow, he drove cross-border regulatory efforts and efficiencies in global and regional teams. He was CEO of Epic from 2008 to 2013. He has a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from the University of Florida and a masters of business administration from the University of Arizona.

“I am extremely excited to join Creation and its strong team,” said Mathur. “The EMS industry is at a crossroads, and I believe Creation Technologies possesses the innovation, leadership and commitment required to help OEMs achieve their objectives in the marketplace.”

Mathur will be taking over a privately held company with more than $550 million in revenues and 2,800 employees across 12 manufacturing business units and two design centers in Canada, the US, China and Mexico.
