BANNOCKBURN, IL — IPC yesterday inducted Mike Carano into the IPC Raymond E. Pritchard Hall of Fame, the trade association's highest honor. Carano was inducted in a ceremony during IPC Apex Expo yesterday in Las Vegas.

A longtime IPC volunteer, Carano has served on 16 IPC committees, including the Roadmap Executive Committee, the Process Control Management Committee and the Plating Process Subcommittee. He is a two-time member of the trade group's board and recently became chairman of the IPC Technology Education Outreach Initiative. He also serves as chair of the TMRC Steering Committee.

Carano has been an IPC member since the early 1990s.

He is a previously winner of the Outgoing Chairman Award, for leadership and service as chairman of the IPC Suppliers Council Steering Committee. and the IPC President’s Award, for leadership in IPC Long-Range Strategic Planning meetings, IPC Printed Circuits Expo technical program and service to the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Suppliers Council.

Carano has written more than 150 technical articles and is a frequent lecturer at IPC events and has consistently been rated as one of IPC’s best instructors.

“IPC is privileged to have Mike as an active member of so many committees and an active contributor to so many events,” said John Mitchell, IPC president and CEO. “This Hall of Fame tribute is in recognition of his nearly 30 years of diligent volunteer work, helping advance our industry and IPC.”

Carano has spent most of his career with ElectroChemicals, which is now part of OMG Electronic Chemicals.
