ORADEA, ROMANIA -- Celestica plans to diversify into solar energy and automotive, a top company official in the country says.

Cristian Gulicska, general manager, said the company has invested EUR 60 million to date in its plant here, and could expand further.

"We are increasing the client base, more on the diversification phase. (W)e want to diversify the portfolio of client towards green technology, we want to develop in the area of solar energy and automotive. We did not have it until now and we plan to enter the automotive sector,” he said, Business Review reported.

The EMS company currently employs 1,400 workers in Romania, where it builds PCB assemblies for European customers.
