ROLLING MEADOWS, IL – The owner of electronics repair and assembly firm BEST Inc. has teamed up with a veteran designer to build a remote HVAC controller, and are attempting to crowdsource funding for the project via Kickstarter. 

Bob Wettermann and Yury Milgram announce the release of RoomCentral, a controller programmed through a smartphone to control the temperature in a given space. The controller features an input sensor which can be up to 25 feet away from the controller to measure the actual temperature in a room, in water or in a animal pen. It can turn devices on and off rated up to 15A in order to keep the area at the desired temperature.

The device can be used as an HVAC controller, connected to a room or local heater or air conditioner in order to control  the temperature in a room. Other uses include for sous-vide cooking, aquariums, chicken roosts, sod germinators, dog or other animal pens and various cookers, the developers say.

The project is currently being featured on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1241955413/room-central. Initial pledges are $100 per device.

Milgram has been an electronics developer of hardware and software for 30 years, specializing in industrial, medical and telecommunications products. Wettermann is owner of BEST Inc., an electronics PCB rework/repair and training facility and BESTProto, an assembler of various electronics products.
