TAIPEI – Foxconn plans to create at least one million jobs in India by building 10 to 12 manufacturing sites there by 2020, says chairman Terry Gou, according to published reports.

Initially, the electronics manufacturer plans to build manufacturing facilities in five states, including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra, say reports.

Foxconn seeks to establish data centers and incubators in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, in addition to investing in domestic Internet startups, small and medium enterprises and handset manufacturers.

Foxconn aims to make India its "manufacturing hub," says Gou.
