SIERADZ, POLAND – Scanfil said it is expanding operations here, doubling its plant by the end of 2017.

New facilities will house a modern electronics plant to respond to growing customer demand, the electronics manufacturer says.

The company has acquired land, and the design of the 8,500 m2 expansion of the current building has begun.

In addition to the production facilities, the investment covers machinery and equipment for electronics manufacturing, increasing the
plant’s SMT capacity and assembly of box-build products.  

The firm is also streamlining internal material flows.

No financial terms were disclosed.
