SAN JOSE, CA – North America-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted September worldwide orders (three-month average) of $1.6 billion, up 3.2% year-over-year and down 8.5% sequentially, says SEMI.
The three-month average of worldwide billings was $1.53 billion, up 2.6% compared to September 2015 and down 10.2% sequentially.
The book-to-bill ratio was 1.05, meaning $105 worth of orders was received for every $100 of product billed for the month.
“Semiconductor equipment bookings continue to outpace equipment billings,” said Denny McGuirk, president and CEO of SEMI. “Year-to-date bookings and
billings data are on trend to surpass last year’s levels.”
