WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – An ASTM International committee is developing a new standard for handheld XRF equipment used to analyze metal content.

The ASTM E01 committee seeks to create a test method for the analysis of copper and copper alloys by wavelength dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WK51383). Volunteers interested in helping should contact Rory Montgomery (rmontgomery@reverecopper.com).

The group will also develop a standard, tentatively called Usage of Handheld XRF for Identification and Analysis of Metals (WK56485).
