SCHAUMBURG, IL – A US government agency has given its assent to the previously proposed acquisition of Sparton by Ultra Electronics Holdings.

On Nov. 20 the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) announced there were no unresolved national security concerns after completing its review process of the proposed deal. CFIUS is an inter-agency committee authorized to review transactions that could result in control of a US business by a foreign person or entity.

The transaction remains subject to other governmental approvals, including clearance of the transaction under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, as well as other customary closing conditions.
