TAIPEI -- Foxconn Electronics shrugged off falling margins to record revenues of NT$142.7 billion, up 49%, during the first six months of 2005, the company reported. Pretax profits were up 18% to NT$10.2 million.


The results overshadow a drop in gross margins, which fell 1.19 points to 5.85% in the first half.

The company, the world's second largest provider of ODM and EMS services, reported first-half revenue of NT$276.1 million, up 58.4% year-over-year. Pretax profits were up 22.6% to NT$18.7 million.

During the first half, the ODM/EMS maker generated non-operating income of NT$10.2 billion, up 6%.
