GREENVILLE, SC -- Kemet Corp. and
Taiyo
Yuden will cross-market each other's lines of passive components, furthering the longstanding relationship between the two companies.
In a statement released today, the firms said pricing will be
"independent and competitive," a possible nod to anti-trust laws.
In a statement, Taiyo Yuden and Kemet said they would share best practices in manufacturing, technology, marketing
and customer support. This includes the right to market
and sell the other's products.
Kemet chief executive Per-Olof Loof said, "We are very impressed with the product development and manufacturing
abilities of Taiyo Yuden and are pleased to have access to these
resources."
The companies have maintained business and
technical pacts since 1997.
Taiyo Yuden has annual sales of over $1.6 billion
and employs more than 18,000 workers worldwide.
