TAMPA -- Electronics manufacturing services company Reptron Electronics today reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $4,000, down from $1.1 million last year, on sales of $36.6 million, up 1.5% from a year ago and 12.3% sequentially.

For the year ended Dec. 31, sales fell 2.2% to $138.5 million. The results include 11 months of results following the company's reorganization and one month pre-reorganization.

Reptron recorded a loss of $14.5 million for the year, including a non-cash goodwill charge of $10.1 million and  an increase to the deferred tax asset valuation allowance of $400,000. The company lost $700,000 in 2004.

"Reptron significantly reduced operating losses in the fourth quarter of 2005," said Paul J. Plante, president and chief executive in a prepared statement. "Our fourth quarter 2005 results reflect the combination of the cost reduction plan we implemented earlier this year and growing customer demand."

Last June, Reptron sold parts of electronic components distribution division and in October 2003 offloaded muc of its memory module division.
