ALLEN, TX -- Sanmina-SCI has signed a deal to assemble certain components designed by Enablence Technologies and used in household optical modems, the companies told a local paper. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Enablence forecast production would rise from 10,000 units a month to 100,000 a month or more, the Dallas Business Journal reported Friday.

Sanmina-SCI employs than 500 workers at the 285,000-sq. ft. plant and expects to add workers as production ramps, the DBJ reported, quoting company officials.

Sanmina-SCI is "making significant investments" to the facility, with a January completion date targeted, the company told the DBJ.
