CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA -- Henkel today announced the acquisition of
Accurus Scientific Co. Ltd., a Taiwan-based manufacturer of solder spheres and solder powders. Terms were not disclosed.
Founded in March 1998, Accurus makes type 1 through type 7 solder powders. The company employs 170 workers.
“The addition of Accurus brings Henkel’s product offerings full circle – enabling us to provide complete materials solutions, which now includes advanced solder sphere technology for next-generation CSP and BGA devices and specialty solder powder for fine-pitch applications,” said Dr. Jochen Krautter, executive vice president of Henkel Technologies, in a press statement.
Henkel Electronics Group president Pat Trippel said, “Accurus’ product range now enables the extension of our portfolio to include the solder spheres used for BGA and CSP package to board interconnection and gives customers a single-source materials supplier. Furthermore, the fine-particle, type 5, 6 and 7 solder powder capability expands our alloy offering and process technology for the entire semiconductor and PCB assembly value chains.”
