AGUASCALIENTES, MEXICO – Continental is investing more than $59 million to build an electronic components plant here.

The 258,000 sq. ft. factory will support the supplier's interiors division, according to reports.

Construction is expected to begin midway through next year, with production planned to start in 2021.

The site reportedly will create 1,000 jobs.

Continental had 2017 global sales to automakers of $35.9 billion.
