SANTA CLARA, CA – Veteran industry engineer Ed McBain passed away in February due to complications from cancer.

At the time of his passing, McBain was vice president of operations at Promex Industries, which he joined in May 2013. Prior, Ed had 30-plus years of operations experience in the semiconductor industry in engineering and management.

McBain worked at Harris Corp., Zilog, and had startup experience in MCM technologies with Micro Module Systems and Lightlogic. He worked as a consultant on several large technology transfer projects, most recently an IP and process technology transfer involving 2.5-D and 3-D technologies.

An endowment to fund engineering graduate students’ educational expenses while conducting research will be will created in his memory at his alma mater, Purdue University. Donations can be made online at Giving.Purdue.edu/InMemoryofEdwardMcBain
