DETROIT -- SAE International has released the latest revision of the mitigation standard for mitigating counterfeit electronics parts in repaired products.

AS5553C is for use by organizations that procure, integrate or repair electrical, electronic or electromechanical (EEE) parts or assemblies containing such items, including maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations.
The requirements are intended to be applied to all organizations that procure EEE parts and/or assemblies, regardless of type, size and product provided.

AS5553C, Counterfeit Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) Parts; Avoidance, Detection, Mitigation, and Disposition, replaces AS5553B, released in September 2016.
