MINNEAPOLIS -- Nortech Systems today reported fourth quarter net sales rose 12.5% year-over-year to $28.8 million.

The operating loss was $14,000, an improvement from an operating loss of $1.8 million a year ago, which included $900,000 in goodwill charges.

The net loss for the period ended Dec. 31 was $200,000, up from a net loss of $2.5 million in 2017.

The electronics manufacturing services provider said total 2018 net sales of $113.4 million, versus $112.3 million in 2017. Operating income swing to a profit of $1.2 million, up from a loss of $1.3 million last year, when the company took a goodwill impairment charge of $900,000. Net income was $200,000, versus a net loss of $2.4 million, including $1.4 million of unfavorable impact from tax reform and discrete tax-related adjustments.
