TAIPEI -- Wistron will invest up to $45 million to set up a wholly owned subsidiary in Vietnam.

The company, ranked fifth worldwide on the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Top 50, will spend up to $234 million on equipment and construction for Wistron InfoComm (Vietnam) Co.

Wistron has seen sales slip in 2019, in part due to tensions from the US-China trade war. The expansion to Vietnam is considered to be a hedge against future pressure on China.
