HAIPHONG, VIETNAM – Pegatron plans to set up production facilities in Vietnam, according to reports.

The world’s second-largest EMS/ODM is on the hunt for a site to build a facility in the north of the country. Pegatron already rented a separate facility here and will make styluses for Samsung Electronics’ smartphones, say reports.

Vietnam is quickly becoming a preferred site for EMS companies looking to relocate capacity from China. Wistron, Foxconn and KeyTronic are among those.
