TAIPEI – Foxconn’s April sales were the highest in 2020 so far, as the firm had deferred orders from the first quarter because of the Covid-19 outbreak, according to reports.

Foxconn posted NT$380.9 billion (US$12.7 billion) in consolidated sales for the month, up 0.3% year-over-year and 9.6% sequentially, its highest ever for April.

In the first four months of 2020, Foxconn’s consolidated sales were NT$1.3 trillion, down 8.7% year-over-year.

In April, the computing devices division recorded the largest increase in shipments compared to March of all the divisions. Deferred order effects are expected to continue into the second quarter.

Foxconn expects first-half sales to be flat with 2019.

The company also said China’s manufacturing sites are running normally and denied rumors of substantial furloughs.
