TAIPEI – Pegatron reported consolidated revenues of NT$114.1 billion (US$3.8 billion) for May, up 16% year-over-year and 10% sequentially.

For the first first five months of 2020, revenues were NT$496.4 billion, down 1.8% compared to the same period in 2019.

Pegatron shipped 1.1 million notebooks and 400,000 desktops in May.

Pegatron expects notebook shipments to grow 80-90% sequentially to reach around 3 million units in the second quarter. iPhones will perform better than expected, the firm says. However, desktop shipments are estimated to drop around 20% sequentially in the second quarter.

Pegatron expects communication and IT product demand to continue to rise in June, but the market in the second half of 2020 is unclear. 5G is expected to bring growth to consumer IT and communication.

Pegatron is expanding 5G technology R&D to strengthen its deployment in mobile devices, network communication equipment, smart home devices, car-use electronics and smart IoT for cars.
