HANOI – Pegatron plans to invest $1 billion in Vietnam as part of a three-phase implementation of computing, communication and consumer production facilities, according to reports.
The firm has received approval to initially invest $19 million in Haiphong, Vietnam.
Pegatron also seeks licenses for a $481-million second phase and $500 million in 2026-2027.
The firm expects to create 22,500 jobs and contribute some $4.3 million to the state budget annually.
