KELSO, SCOTLAND -- Plexus is reportedly considering reducing headcount at its EMS plant here by 60 jobs, according to local reports.
The Border Telegraph said an elected official named John Lamont called the news “very concerning for the town with approximately 60 jobs at risk.
“I will be contacting management, as well as Scottish Borders Council and South of Scotland Enterprise to ensure support is in place for those at risk of redundancy.
A Plexus executive later confirmed the report, adding that the EMS company plans to keep the site open. The site of late has built ventilators for patients afflicted with Covid-19.
