SUZHOU, CHINA – Scanfil plans to expand its factory here, with an estimated investment of €6 million to more than double production space. The company expects to start construction in 2022.

The current site is approximately 17,000 m², with some 10,000 m² dedicated to production and warehouse. The potential investment would grow the production and warehouse space an additional 11,000 m².

“Customer demand has been increasing throughout the year, and there are clear signals demand will remain at a high level for the coming years,” said Petteri Jokitalo, CEO, Scanfil. “Our investment model in Suzhou is flexible, and we can add investments and production gradually to respond to the customer demand. For example, in 2018 we carried out an expansion with a similar setup in Sieradz, Poland, and it has proven to be a great success.”

The China factory mainly serves the consumer applications and medtech and life industries.
