BANNOCKBURN, IL — North American EMS orders in December were up 47.1% year-over-year and 13.8% sequentially, says IPC.
EMS shipments were up 0.9% compared to December in the prior year and 8% sequentially.
The book-to-bill ratio was 1.55, compared to 1.43 in November. A ratio of more than one suggests current demand is ahead of supply, which is a positive indicator for sales growth over the next three to twelve months.
“IPC recorded the strongest monthly North American EMS bookings on record in December 2021,” said Shawn DuBravac, IPC’s chief economist. “Strong bookings pushed the book-to-bill to near record levels, tying levels in May 2021 and only slightly below the all-time record high set in April 2021.”
