TOULOUSE, FRANCE – Actia, All Circuits and Lacroix launched a three-year Power Electronic Manufacturing Services (PREMS) project to accelerate manufacturing of the power electronics of electric vehicles in France.

With a total budget of €2.25 million shared equally among the partners, PREMS is receiving funding from France Relance. The We Network Technical Center is coordinating and managing the project.

PREMS addresses the assembly, control and testing processes for new power functions.

The project goal is to have production know-how in France by 2024 that can be used by the automotive industry to support electric vehicles.

“The automotive value chain is undergoing profound transformation due to the rapid development of electrification and the arrival of SiC and GaN components. This double technological and demand breakthrough is an opportunity the automotive sector must seize to strengthen its industrialization capacities in France and the resilience of the entire value chain,” said Renaud Hanus, CTO, Actia.

“The challenges of electric vehicle development for the electronics sector exceed the response capacities of individual players. Cooperation between the main leaders in automotive electronics subcontracting is essential to accelerate our response to this major challenge for Made in France,” said Arnaud Nicolas, R&D director, All Circuits.

The cooperation approach implemented through PREMS for the automotive market can be applied in other areas (transport, energy, industry) with the players present in these markets to go further together and improve the resilience of the whole industry,” said Benjamin Gauchenot, VP quality and operation, Lacroix Electronics.
