OULU, FINLAND -- Citing strong customer demand and spot market purchases of components, mainly semiconductors, Scanfil today raised its outlook for revenue for 2022.

The EMS company now estimatessales will be EUR800 million to 880 million.

The previous outlook for 2022, issued on Apr. 14, was EUR750 million to 820 million. Scanfil also reiterated its previous operating profit outlook in the range of EUR43 million to 48 million.

Scanfil noted first-quarter spot market purchases executed to secure customer deliveries amounted to EUR17 million.

The guidance involves uncertainty especially arising from the availability and price level of semiconductors and the delivery capability of the supply chain. In addition, the war in Ukraine and Covid-19 might create risks and uncertainties, the company said.
