TORONTO -- Celestica today reported second quarter revenue rose 21% year-over-year to $1.72 billion on broad-based strength.

For the quarter ended Jun. 30, Advanced Technology Solutions segment revenue increased 24% and Connectivity & Cloud Solutions segment revenue increased 19%.

The results included revenue from PCI Private Ltd., which Celestica acquired on Nov. 1, 2021.

ATS segment margin was 4.5% up 40 basis points, while CCS segment margin was 5%, up from 3.7% in 2021. ATS consists of aerospace and defense (A&D), industrial (including PCI and energy), healthtech and capital equipment. CCS consists of communications and enterprise servers and storage.

Net profit rose 35% from a year ago to $35.6 million.

Gross profit was $149.9 million, up from $118 million last year. Cash from operations was $86.9 million, versus $56.5 million in 2021.

On Jun. 7, 2022, Celestica sustained a fire at its Batam, Indonesia, facility. The fire destroyed inventories located at the site with a carrying value of approximately $91,and damaged a building and equipment with an aggregate carrying value of $1. Manufacturing operations at the site were briefly paused, but have since resumed. The company has written down the inventories destroyed and a building and equipment damaged by the fire, and recorded in other current assets on its consolidated balance sheet an estimated receivable of approximately $92 related to anticipated insurance proceeds.

Celestica raised its 2022 revenue outlook to at least $6.7 billion.
