ANDOVER, MA – Vicor has secured a preliminary injunction that prevents Foxconn subsidiaries from pursuing arbitration against Vicor before the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.

Foxconn had sought rulings from CIETAC based on fine print in their purchase orders, claiming entitlement to royalty-free licenses for Vicor's patents. The patents are part of a pending investigation with the United States International Trade Commission (ITC), which could result in an exclusion order barring entry of infringing power converter modules and systems into the US.

The ruling from the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts had already resulted in a temporary restraining order, and now also includes the preliminary injunction, Vicor said.
