ATLANTA – ECIA’s Industry Pulse market sentiment index reached 154 in June, its highest level in five years and just below the all-time high of 157 recorded in March 2021.
The June reading increased 7 points from May, despite the previous month’s survey forecasting a decline of more than 15 points to 131.
“The June survey results are surprising,” said ECIA Chief Analyst Dale Ford, noting the significant difference between the May forecast and June’s actual results.
Survey participants remained less confident about the near-term direction of the market, with the July index forecast to fall nearly 17 points to 137. Despite the projected decline, forecast component indexes remain between 129 and 147, well above the 100-point threshold indicating expectations for growth.
ECIA’s monthly and quarterly Industry Pulse surveys track electronic component sales expectations, outlooks, cancellations, decommits and lead times across component categories, semiconductor segments and end markets.
