NOIDA, INDIA – Dixon Technologies is establishing a new subsidiary to support its original equipment manufacturing (OEM) business for electronic devices, including smartphones, through a joint venture with Vivo Mobile India.
Dixon will hold a 51% stake in the new company, Advistor Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., through an initial investment of approximately $295,000. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved Vivo Mobile India's proposed investment in the venture, which is expected to be completed within two months.
The joint venture is intended to expand Dixon's smartphone manufacturing capacity, with revenue from the new business expected to begin contributing during the October-December quarter. Vivo currently leads India's smartphone market by shipment volume, and the partnership is expected to strengthen Dixon's position in the country's electronics manufacturing sector.
