TAIPEI – Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) reported another stellar first quarter, with net earnings of $15.6 billion, up 48.9% year-over-year.

For 2006, the world’s largest EMS company reported net profits of $59.9 billion on revenues of $1.3 trillion. The figures include sales revenues of its Hong Kong-listed subsidiary Foxconn International Holdings.

Operating margins rose 0.2 points to 5.7% in 2006. Gross margins slid to 9.7% last year from 10.3% in 2005 because of fierce EMS competition.
