WESTLAKE, OHNordson Corp., parent company to Asymtek, EFD, Dage and YesTech, reported record fourth quarter sales of $290.8 million, a 20.4% increase year-over-year.

Net income for the quarter ended Oct. 31 rose 6.5% to $29.6 million. Acquisitions accounted for 11.6% of the increase and core volume added 4.4%, with the remainder coming from the effects of currency translation, reported the company.
 
"We generated significant volume growth during the quarter in all segments and each geographic region, grew operating profit by 17% and, after normalizing the effect on last year's earnings of non-recurring tax benefits, grew earnings per share from continuing operations by 14%," said chairman and CEO Edward P. Campbell.
 
For the year, sales reached a record $993.6 million, an 11.4% increase year-over-year. Cash flow from operations was $77.9 million or 7.8% of sales.
 
The advanced technology systems segment reported a sales volume gain of 38.7%; the adhesive dispensing systems segment volume increased 9.5%, and industrial coating and automotive systems volume increased 5.2%.
 
Fourth-quarter sales volume increased 26.5% in the Americas, 22% in Japan, 16.4% in Asia Pacific, 15.9% in Europe and 11.9% in the U.S., the firm reported.
