SUZHOU -- OnCore Manufacturing Services continued its acquisition spree, picking up Alta Electronics for an undisclosed price.

The privately held electronics manufacturing services company in August announced the acquisition of Victron, a fellow EMS company focused on the medical and military end-markets. The acquisition should push OnCore's annual revenues above $625 million.

While the Victron deal amounted to a merger of two companies of roughly equal size, the Alta deal was much smaller acquisition.

However, Alta has a factories in Fremont, CA, and Suzhou, giving OnCore its second plant in China.

“The new facility will provide engineering and manufacturing services of advanced electronics for our U.S. customers that require an entrée into the China market or whose products benefit from being sourced in China,” said Daniel Perez, president and CEO of OnCore. “Suzhou is a key part of our customer driven strategy of providing them with the capabilities and geographic footprint they demand.

“The Suzhou facility will continue to provide our customers; especially those that serve the industrial, semiconductor and advanced communications markets, with rapid commercialization and volume production services that they have come to expect from us.”

With the acquisition, OnCore now has 11 plants, including its newest greenfield in Wilmington, MA.
