BANNOCKBURN, IL – The inventor of the Segway and a leading expert on robotics in the military are on tap to keynote IPC Apex Expo next March.

The annual printed circuit board trade show will feature serial inventor and entrepreneur Dean Kamen and New America Foundation strategist and senior fellow Peter Singer.

As opening keynote presenter on Mar. 15, Kamen will discuss inventions and innovations. Kamen holds more than 440 US and foreign patents, many for medical devices. The founder of DEKA Research and Development, he has invented the Segway, the IBOT wheelchair, a portable water purification system, and the first wearable insulin pump for diabetics.

He will discuss his own palette of mathematics and machines and describe his unique perspective on life, careers and inventing for the future.

On Mar. 16, Singer will reveal how science fiction is fast becoming reality on the battlefield, changing not just how wars are fought, but also the politics, economics, laws and ethics that surround war itself during his presentation Inside the Rise of the Warbots.

Singer has consulted for the US military, Defense Intelligence Agency, and the FBI. Blending historic evidence with interviews from the field, he will provide examples of robotic weapons, and how the robotic revolution will change the laws of war that have governed military conflict for generations.
