SZEKESFEHERVAR, HUNGARY -- Videoton's consolidated revenue rose 17% year-over-year in 2014 to HUF130 billion ($483.2 million), the company announced today.

The EMS company, the third-largest in Europe behind Zollner and AsteelFlash, saw growth in each of its business areas, including electronics manufacturing, assembly, mechanical part production and services, with electronics and electromechanical assembly leading the way. Sales to all end-markets rose as well, driven by automotive, whose share rose to 40%, followed by industrial (30%), and small household appliances (19%).

"Among European contract manufacturers Videoton is ranked in the top three in terms of revenue, number of employees and efficiency.  [The] growth of other companies in the [EMS segment] is not even close to that of Videoton," the company said in a press release.

Videoton spent nearly HUF 5.5 billion ($20 million) on technology investments in 2014.

The number of employees in the group exceeded 9,200 in 2014, up 1,300 from 2013, with manufacturing employment rising 700 to nearly 5,600.

Videoton said its goal is to increase sales 3 to 5% in 2015.
