EDINA, MN – SMTA is seeking abstracts for a new conference on LEDs. The LED Assembly, Reliability and Testing Symposium takes place in November in Atlanta.

Suggested topics include failure mechanisms; packaging materials - encapsulation, lenses; testing; reliability; luminaire - control board; assembly and packaging process; new materials and techniques used to make LEDs; assembly and inspection of LEDs mounted onto substrates; policies and usage improvements/tradeoffs; lighting designers; thermal management issues during integration; automotive applications, and IESNA Standards.

The deadline for abstracts is June 5.

The symposium is intended to provide information to bridge the gap between the semiconductor physics and the architectural design level issues in LED supply chain.

The event will be in held in Atlanta Nov. 17-19 and is hosted by the SMTA and CALCE.
