WAREHAM, DORSET, ENGLAND -- CSM Electronics and IO Electronics have officially announced a merger after months of negotiations in a bid to become one of the UK’s largest players in the electronics contract manufacturing arena.

Under terms of the agreement, CSM will relocate to the IO Electronics site in Holes Bay, Poole. The merged company will be named IO Electronics. Financial terms were not disclosed.

In a joint statement the EMS companies said: “This is great news for our customers, suppliers and employees. CSM and IO are both focused on growth and committed to delivering the highest quality, first class PCB, cable and box build assembly services. We believe the combination of the two distinctive manufacturers who share a very similar ethos gives us the opportunity to build something very strong together.

Initially CSM customers will notice no difference other than a name change, but over time they will benefit from the increased range of specialist manufacturing services that we will be able to provide.

"The merger will be made easier by the close proximity of the two companies and the fact we already share a proportion of our existing customer base."
