KENOSHA, WI -- Foxconn is said to be looking a 1,000 acre sites south of Milwaukee for a multi-billion dollar electronics assembly plant.

The world's largest EMS/ODM has been tied to a local request for proposal for the acreage, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The company also asked about a 400 acre plot, the report said.

Despite interest in attracting the investment, the Kenosha area doesn't have a greenfield site that large available, a local town official said.

Sanmina has a small EMS plant in nearby Pleasant Prairie, a suburb just south of Kenosha near the Illinois border. Sanmina acquired the plant formerly known as Manu-Tronics from Roger Mayer in 1999.
