PENANG -- ViTrox Technologies saw its revenues in North America climb 40% over a year ago for the quarter ended Mar. 31.

It marked the highest gain for the automated vision inspection OEM.

Demand was higher for 2D/3D AOI and AXI, the firm said. "Market demand is huge in US and Mexico region, especially in the fields of EMS, aerospace and also automotive," the company said in a press release.

In 2016, ViTrox recorded total revenue of RM 234 million ($54.5 million), with North America making up 16% ($8.6 million). It was Vitrox's first year with revenues in excess of RM200 million.

ViTrox expects linear growth of revenue from quarter to quarter in 2017 in the US.
