MILPITAS, CA — The 90-day moving average sales at North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers rose 32.8% year-over-year, according to the latest data from SEMI.

Manufacturers' sales slid 1.4% sequentially to $2.27 billion, the trade association added.

“We observed softening in the equipment billings in July following the strong surge in the first half of the year," said Ajit Manocha, president and CEO of SEMI. “However, overall, equipment billings remain significantly up year-over-year, with 2017 on track to be a record spending year."

The SEMI billings report uses three-month moving averages of worldwide billings for North American-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers.
