LOUISVILLE, KY – Sypris Electronics posted revenue of $10.6 million in the third quarter ended Oct. 4, up 39.5% year-over-year.

Revenue reflected the commissioning of the Cyber Range and an increase in product sales during the quarter. Gross profit during the period was $500,000, compared to a loss of $1.1 million in the same quarter of 2014.

Overall, Sypris Solutions reported total revenue of $38.4 million for the third quarter, down 57.4% year-over-year. The firm posted a net loss of $300,000, compared to a net loss of $1.2 million in the same period last year. During the quarter, the company sold its manufacturing assets in Morganton, NC, and received a purchase order from NEC Corp. for the acquisition of a Sypris Cyber Range for use in cyber threat competency evaluation and response training.

For the nine months ended Oct. 4, Sypris Solutions reported revenue of $116.2 million, down 57% year-over-year. The net loss for the nine-month period was $21.7 million, compared to net income of $900,000 for the prior year.

Revenue for Sypris Technologies decreased 66.3% to $27.8 million in the third quarter, compared to the same quarter in 2014. Gross profit was $2 million, compared to $9.3 million for the same period in 2014.
