ITC Investigates Possible Patent Infringement of Memory Modules

WASHINGTON – The International Trade Commission has instituted an investigation to determine whether imports of memory modules are violating Section 337 of the 1930 Tariff Act by reason of patent infringement.
The memory modules in question include JEDEC-standard DDR4 RDIMMs and LRDIMMs.
The complainant, Netlist, requested that the ITC issue a limited exclusion order directing US Customs to prohibit the entry of infringing products. The firm also requested the ITC issue cease and desist orders, which would require the named respondents to cease actions that violate Section 337, including selling infringing imported articles out of US inventory.
The respondents in this investigation are located in Korea and the US.
