JUAREZ, MEXICO -- Viasystems Inc. will expand its operations here, adding sheet metal fabrication capabilities to its backplane assembly and integration capabilities.

The company didn't disclose the amount of the investment, but said it will be made over a two-year period.

"We are excited about expanding our site capabilities to align with the requirements of our customers,” said general manager Santos Juarez. “This investment complements Viasystems’ “under one roof” vertical integration philosophy and allows us to reduce lead times to support our customer requirements with low cost solutions.”
