WASHINGTON, DC – The US Environmental Protection Agency will fine Samsung $205,000 for claims the firm’s keyboards were antimicrobial and inhibited germs and bacteria.
 
The claims made on labels and promotional material for netbook and notebook computers rendered those products pesticides, according to the EPA.
 
Because the firm didn’t register the products as pesticides with the EPA, they were found to be in violation.
 
In addition to paying the fine, Samsung will remove these claims, and has notified its retailers and distributors to do the same.
