CHICAGO – Despite economic pressures, the EMS industry demonstrated increased deal activity and resilience during the fourth quarter of 2022, and the year as a whole saw one fewer transaction than in 2021, according to data gathered by Lincoln International. 

TAIPEI – Foxconn has signed a $62.5 million lease with Saigon-Bac Giang Industrial Park Corp in Vietnam to build a new manufacturing facility.

PATHUMTANI, THAILAND – SVI Public Co. reported quarterly revenue of $200 million in the fourth quarter and annual revenue of $741 million, an increase of 48.8% from the previous year. Both amounts were historical highs for the company.

SANTA ANA, CA – Ducommun announced fourth quarter revenue of $120 million for its Electronic Systems segment, an increase of 13.2% from the previous year's fourth quarter.

FONTENAY-AUX-ROSES, FRANCE – Icape Group reported annual revenue of €219.6 million ($234.9 million), an increase of 34% compared to 2021.

BILLINGSTAD, NORWAY – Kitron reported record revenue of NOK1.8 billion ($177.3 million), compared to the NOK949 million ($92.8 million) for the same quarter last year.

TAIPEI – Lorom Holding Company, a manufacturing solutions provider focusing on specialized cable manufacturing and assembly, has announced the acquisition of Segue Manufacturing Services. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

AUSTIN, TX – Austin American Technology (AAT) and Aqua Klean Systems (AKS) will merge, making the combined firm the world’s largest electronics cleaning equipment manufacturer, the companies said in a joint statement. 

CHENNAI, INDIA – Finland's Salcomp, a supplier to Apple, plans to double its workforce in India to 25,000 over the next three years, targeting annual revenue in the country of at least $2 billion to $3 billion by 2025, a top company executive said this week.

ATLANTA – The Electronic Components Industry Association's Global Industry Practices Committee (GIPC) has published a report outlining the results of a two-year initiative to create a streamlined process to digitally exchange manufacturer Certificate of Compliance documents. Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) agreed to participate in the pilot project with Digi-Key. They began with the manufacturers’ certificate of compliance while considering other compliance documents. The report from this initiative is now published and available to the industry.

CHENNAI, INDIA – Indian electronics manufacturer Dixon Technologies is expecting to see revenue increase by 12% in the current fiscal year and is considering setting up a plant in Tamil Nadu, according to a top executive.
